Postgame Notes

  • UT Arlington topped Fresno State on Friday at College Park Center. UTA went to 5-0, while the Bulldogs fell to 1-3. UTA will play four of its next five games on the road.
  • The win was UTA's first over Fresno State after falling in the first three contests.
  • UTA is 5-0 for the second consecutive season, the back-to-back perfect starts are the best since going 7-0 in 1977 and first time in program history that UTA has had five consecutive wins to open the season in back-to-back years.
  • UTA is receiving five votes in the USA Today Coaches' Poll and are No. 17 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll.
  • UTA leaves the state of Texas for the first time this season when it travels to Utah on Monday night at 7 p.m. CT on the Pac 12 Network. The Lady Mavs are 1-0 on the road, defeating UTSA in overtime on Nov. 15. The matchup with Utah is the first meeting between the programs. UTA is 0-5 against the conference all time, with the last meeting taking place against California in 2010.
  • As the Lady Mavs go on the road for four of the next five, all away tilts will be against Power 5 opponents. After the Utes, UTA goes to (RV) Kansas State, (RV) Georgia Tech and Arkansas. The lone home matchup is against Houston on Dec. 1.
  • Rebekah VanDijk moved up to 19th in Sun Belt history with 886 rebounds in her career. The senior's two blocks gave her 151 in her career, the third player in UTA history to achieve the feat.
  • Crystal Allen scored in double figures for the fifth consecutive day as she produced 15 points. Allen was named the CSM Mid-Major Player of the Week and SBC POTW last week.
  • UTA shot 46.2 percent from the field, while Fresno State was held to just 29.2 percent.
  • Allen finished with three of UTA's five 3-pointers. Lauren Billie and Shelby Richards knocked down the other two.
  • UTA is 15-3 at College Park Center dating back to the 2016-17 season.
