Postgame Notes

  • Kansas State topped UTA 70-56, using a 16-0 run in the third to pull away.
  • The Lady Mavericks led for the first 14:25, holding as much as a 10-point advantage in the first quarter.
  • UTA is 0-5 all-time against Kansas State. The teams have met the last four seasons.
  • UTA is 22-88 against teams currently in the Big 12.
  • Rebekah VanDijk secured her 39th-career double-double midway through the third quarter. The senior entered the day the NCAA Division I active career leader.
  • VanDijk moved into seventh in UTA history with a team-high 20 points.

  • Crystal Allen scored in double figures for the fifth time this season with 12 points. Allen hit three 3-pointers in the third quarter.

  • UTA continues in its three-game road trip when it travels to Georgia Tech on Sunday. The matchup is the second all-time between the programs and first since 2008 when Georgia Tech defeated UTA 63-56 in Nassau, Bahamas. It is also the ninth (1-7) meeting with an ACC opponent, the last being Pittsburgh in 2010.
  • The Lady Mavs finish the road portion of nonconference on Dec. 17 at Arkansas, and then non-league action at College Park Center on Dec. 21 as part of a men's and women's doubleheader.
