Postgame Notes

  • UTA defeated App State 64-60 to improve to 7-6 on the season and 1-1 in Sun Belt play. App State went to 2-11 overall and 0-2 in the Sun Belt. 
  • UTA improved to 6-0 when leading after the third quarter. 
  • Daiane Machado had a team-high 14 points to follow a 16-point effort on Friday, her career high. 
  • Rebekah VanDijk finished with 10 rebounds, six blocks and five points. The six blocks tied her career high.
  • VanDijk moved up to 13th in league history in rebounds with 959 in her career. VanDijk's six blocks moved her to 14th in the league, and just one away from second in UTA history. 
  • Aysia Evans, making her first start since November, had a season high 11 points, including hitting both of her 3-point attempts and hitting five free throws. 
  • Crystal Allen was in double figures for a team-high eighth time this season with 10. 
  • UTA used its eighth different starting lineup of the season with Rebekah VanDijk, Crystal Allen, Aysia Evans, Laurynn McGowen and Shelby Richards.
  • UTA is 7-0 all-time against Appalachian State and 4-0 when on the road in the series.
  • The Lady Mavs are 13-3 when playing in the Eastern time zone under coach Krista Gerlich.
