ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington returns to College Park Center for a pivotal clash against Sun Belt defending champion Troy on Thursday at 5 p.m.
The Lady Mavericks opened up league play by splitting games in the Carolina's and are up against a Troy team that is 2-0 to start the Sun Belt.

Troy leads the all-time series 7-3, taking two of the three matchups last year, including the Sun Belt semifinals. UTA has won two of the three meetings at College Park Center over the span of the last three years.

HEAD COACH Krista Gerlich
Krista Gerlich enters with with a 234-120 career record, while posting a 65-79 record in her fifth season at UTA. A 1993 graduate of Texas Tech, Gerlich has led a resurgance of the Lady Mavs, bringing the team from just a four-win season in her first year, to reaching the WNIT in 2017. As a player, Gerlich won the 1993 NCAA National Championship with Texas Tech. Prior to UTA, she was a standout coach at West Texas A&M, claiming three conference titles.

It went back-and-forth, but UTA was able to hold onto a 64-60 win at App State. App State went on a 12-2 run to start the 4th and overturned a 7-pt deficit. Aysia Evans hit a 3-pointer late in the 4th to put UTA in the lead for the remainder. Daiane Machado led UTA with 14 points. Rebekah VanDijk tied a career high with 6 blocks
