THE GAME: The UT Arlington women’s basketball is coming off its first Sun Belt Conference victory of the season after defeating Georgia State 67-51 on the road. The Mavericks and the Rajin' Cajuns faced each other earlier this season, as the Cajuns took down the UTA 66-64. This will be the 13th match between the two schools, with UL-L leading the series 10-2.

WBB: Mavs fall 66-64 at Louisiana
UT Arlington women's basketball lost its fourth-straight Sun Belt Conference game 66-64 Saturday afternoon against the University of Louisiana at Lafayette after leading for most of the game.

SCOUTING UL-LAFAYETTE: UL-L is 10-10 overall and 3-6 in Sun Belt play. The Cajuns are on a five-game losing streak, with their most recent loss to UL-M, 66-59, at home. Sophomore guard Sylvana Okde is leading the Cajuns in scoring at 12.0 points per game, closely followed by fellow sophomore guard Keke Veal at 11.9 points per game.
LAST TIME OUT: Senior forward Briana Walker scored 21 to lead UT Arlington women's basketball to its first-ever Sun Belt Conference win, 67-51, over Georgia State at GSU Sports Arena. Walker made 9 of 11 shots and pulled down nine rebounds. Fellow senior Desherra Nwanguma finished with her fifth double-double of the season with 13 points and 15 boards. Senior guard Laila Suleiman scored nine and helped control the tempo running the UTA offense.
WHO TO WATCH: Senior center Desherra Nwanguma has picked up a double-double in four of her last five outings, and was just two rebounds away from a double-double versus WKU. Nwanguma is averaging 14.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game throughout Sun Belt competition.
GERLICH ERA: Krista Gerlich is in her first season at UTA after seven years at West Texas A&M. Gerlich compiled an impressive record of 168-53 in seven seasons at West Texas A&M. Her teams won four consecutive South Division Lone Star Conference titles from 2007-10 and three consecutive Lone Star Conference championships from 2008-10.

LINEUP CHANGE: Coach Gerlich has used five lineups in 20 games so far this season. Senior Laila Suleiman and junior transfer Tahlia Pope have remained starters in all 20 contests.
MAVERICKS IN 2013-14: UT Arlington returns eight letterwinners and two starters from last year. The Mavericks welcome two freshmen as well as four transfers (one sophomore and three juniors) for the 2013-14 season.
