ARLINGTON, Texas - Laurynn McGowen had to leave Arlington to realize she wanted to come back home. The junior played her freshman season at Sam Houston State, her sophomore season at New Mexico Junior College, but is right at home as she returned to play for the Lady Mavericks this season.
McGowen is averaging 7.6 points per game and a team-best 3.3 assists per game as the team's starting point guard. McGowen has started in all but one game this season, and has made the most of an opportunity to play in front of her home family.
