Women's hoops face UTSA in final regular-season game

The UT Arlington women's basketball team plays its final game of the regular-season Saturday against UTSA in San Antonio, Texas. Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
UTA improved to 8-19 overall and broke a four-game losing streak Wednesday night against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with a 77-73 win at Texas Hall. Shalyn Martin led the Mavericks with a season-high 24 points against the Islanders. Martin moved to fifth in UTA's all-time rebounding list with 773. Tamara Simmons leads the Maverick offense scoring 15.1 points per game.
UTSA (14-14, 10-5) dropped an 81-59 decision on the road to Central Arkansas Wednesday night. The Roadrunners are currently in second in the West Division. UTSA has three players averaging in double-figures with Amber Gregg leading the way with 14.2 points per game.
The Mavericks will face the Roadrunners for the second time this season. UTA recorded a 56-55 home win on February 2. Tamara Simmons led the Mavs with 19 points while Shalyn Martin recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds in that game. UTA owns a 28-23 all-time series record over the Roadrunners.
