ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington women's basketball wrapped up its first two camps of the summer with the conclusion of Team Camp Saturday.
"I am thrilled with how our summer camps turned out," UT Arlington coach Krista Gerlich said. "Having been here for a year now we were able to double our team camp, while having some of the top talent in the state at our elite camp."
The camps are available for students from grades 2-12 and all skill levels, and feature personalized instruction from Gerlich and her assistant coaches. Drills include ball handling, shooting, rebounding, footwork and other fundamentals. Camps also include live 1-on-1 and 5-on-5 games. All three camps are held at College Park Center where the Mavericks play.
"What sets our camps apart from others is that we house our campers in our beautiful facilities and try to give them a real taste of the college experience while working hard on improving their game," Gerlich said.
Although elite overnight camp and team camp have concluded, Gerlich and the Mavericks host Fundamental Camp later this month.
Fundamental Camp: July 14-16 for students from grades 2-8 running from 8:30-11:30 a.m. for $75.
Additional Information: Athletic shoes and clothing are required. The camp will be attended and run by the UTA coaching staff. Campers will be grouped together by the grade they are going to in the fall. (If they just completed the 6th grade, sign them up as a 7th grader.)
Discounts: $15 off the total amount for attending multiple camps or for siblings.
