Arlington, Texas - The University of Texas at Arlington has released new renderings of the Special Events Center. These pictures show both the interior and exterior of the building and are updated from the first few renderings that were released in February.

The Special Events Center will be home to UTA's volleyball and men's and women's basketball teams. The building will also host concerts, speeches and commencement ceremonies as well as other events.

The arena will be built on the northeast corner of campus between South Center and South Pecan streets at West Second Street. This ideal location near UT Arlington residence halls, and the new Levitt Pavilion, will help connect the University to downtown Arlington and encourage quality private development along the north and east edges of campus. A significant aspect of UT Arlington's Campus Master Plan is the development of a College Town community along the northern boundary.

The building is scheduled to open in the spring of 2012.
