Series History with the Lady Frogs...
Thursday night marks the 28th meeting in school history that the Mavericks and Lady Frogs will go head-to-head.

The first meeting between both teams was on January 24, 1974 where they Mavs recorded a 45-33 victory at home.

The last time both teams faced off was last season where TCU recorded a 97-42 win on their home court.

TCU had six players finish in double-digit scoring, including then freshman Sverrisdottir who posted 13 points and dished out six assists in that game.

The Mavs finished the game shooting a dismal 22 percent (13-of-59) from the floor to TCU's 51.5 percent (35-of-68) from the field.

The Mavs have a 2-13 record at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum with the last win recorded on November 29, 1983. The all-time series between both teams is even at 14-14.

Scouting The Lady Frogs...
TCU is coming off a 2-0 record after collecting victories over No. 3 Maryland (11-14-08) by a final score of 80-68 and UT San Antonio (11-16-08), 73-60 at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. The victory over Maryland marked only the second win in school history over a top-3 ranked team.

The Lady Frogs return five letterwinners from last season's team that finished second in the Mountain West Conference and reached the quarterfinal round of the Women's NIT.

On Tuesday night, TCU's TK LaFleur led the Lady Frogs with a career-high 28 points to a 80-68 upset victory over top-ranked Maryland at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.

LaFleur went 10-of-17 shooting from the field, 4-of-6 from three-point range and a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. Helen Sverrisdottir notched 18 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field, 3-of-5 from behind the three-point line and 5-of-5 from the free throw line.

For the game, TCU finished shooting 44.3 percent (27-of-61) from the floor to Maryland's 34.4 percent (22-of-64) from the field.

TCU took on UTSA on Sunday, November 16 and collected a 73-60 win at home. Sverrisdottir posted 19 points and 10 rebounds, including a team-high eight assists in 35 minutes of action.

The Lady Frogs shot 46.3 percent from the field to the Roadrunner's 41 percent. According to the Associated Press Top 25 poll released on Monday, the Lady Frogs were rated 24th after collecting 148 total points. The rating marks the first time TCU have appeared in a national poll since the 2006-07 season.

F 34 - Candice Champion (6-1, SR, Waco, Texas)
Started in her first game of the 2008-09 season... led all scorers with 20 points, including eight rebounds, two assists and three steals against SMU (11/14).

G 14 - Meghan Nelson (5-7, SO, Arlington, Texas)
Finished the season-opener versus SMU (11/14) with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor, 1-of-2 from behind the arc and 4-of-9 from the free throw line.

G 20 - Tamara Simmons (5-7, SO, Arlington, Texas)
Led UTA with eight assists and posted seven points and five boards in 31 minutes of action against SMU (11/14).

F 32 - Shalyn Martin (5-11,SO, Arlington, Texas)
Collected 15 points, six rebounds, three steals and two blocks in 40 minutes of action at the Moody Coliseum against SMU (11/14).

F 50 - Erin Dixon (5-11, SR, Pflugerville, Texas)
Recorded her first double-double of the 2008-09 season with a 17 point, 10 rebound performance versus SMU (11/14).

Candice Champion NAMED SLC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
On Monday, November 17, senior Candice Champion was selected as the first women's basketball player of the week of the 2008-09 campaign.

After recording a game-high 20 points in a non-conference match-up against SMU (11-14-08), Champion led the Mavs to a huge 85-79 opening day victory at the Moody Coliseum in Dallas, Texas.

The senior foward finished shooting 7-of-14 from the field and 6-of-10 from the free throw line, to go along with eight rebounds, two assists and three steals in 36 minutes of action.

Following the match-up with the Lady Frogs, the Mavericks will head to Lubbock, Texas for a match-up against Big 12 opponent Texas Tech on Sunday, November 23 with tip-off slated for 2 p.m.
