Scouting The Eagles...
Morehead State is coming off a 56-51 setback at Marshall on Thursday, Novemeber 25. With the loss, the Eagles dropped their overall record to 3-2.
Morehead State led 23-18 at the half and went ahead 36-25 early in the final 20 minutes, but the Herd's defense forced the Eagles without a field goal for the next six minutes in the second half and outscored MSU 38-28.
Courtney Lumpkin recorded a team-high 13 points on 5-of-14 shooting, 2-of-7 from three-point range and 1-of-2 from the free throw line for the Eagles.
Morehead finished the game shooting 30 percent from the field to Marshall's 34.5 percent from the floor.
The Eagles led 44-42 with 6:55 left after two Tiffanie Stephens free throws, but the Herd then rattled off a 9-0 run over the next five minutes. The Eagles had five turnovers, and Marshall went ahead 51-44 with 1:29 remaining. Hamilton hit a three-pointer to make it 51-47 before Harris' jumper pushed the Herd back ahead 53-47.
Despite outrebounding Marshall by a 44-39 margin, the thundering herd converted 20 points off of Morehead's 21 turnovers.
