MAVS BACK IN ACTION AT TULANE/DOUBLE TREE CLASSIC

Tulane Double Tree Classic Game Notes NEW ORLEANS, La. - UT Arlington Women's Basketball team is back to action starting Friday at the Tulane/Double Tree Classic in New Orleans, La. UTA is scheduled to take on Mississippi on Friday at 5 p.m. while host Tulane takes on Fordham at 7 p.m. On Saturday action continues with a Consolation Game set for 5 p.m. and the Championship Game at 7 p.m. Head Coach Donna Capps is looking for her 100th career victory. She is currently one win away from the mark. UTA is 4-7 on the season and will begin conference action on Jan. 4 at Central Arkansas. Scouting The Rebels... Ole Miss is led by senior Armitie Price with 19.9 points and 7.9 rebounds a game. Freshman Alliesha Easley is the Rebels second leading scorer with 12.4 points a game. Shawn Goff has come off the bench for 10.6 points a game. The Rebels have won their last two games most recently downing Miami 82-64 to improve to 9-3 on the season. Three Rebels scored in double digits led by Price with 26 points. Ashley Awkward and Easley added 16 points each. Danetra Forrest led all players on the boards with 13 rebounds. Two of Ole Miss's losses came in overtime games against Rice and Rutgers respectively. Its only other loss was to Maryland, 110-79. Scouting The Rams... Fordham is led by senior Lisa Carrol with 18.7 points a game. LaToya Chalmers leads the Rams on the glass with 5.3 rebounds a game. The Rams lost their last game 66-42 to Delaware on Dec. 12. Two Rams scored double digits in the loss, Annie Zopf scored 12 and Carrol added 10. couting The Green Wave... Seniors Jami Montagnino and D'Aundra Henry lead the Green Wave with 15.5 and 11.4 points a game. Junior Alendra Brown leads Tulane on the glass with 5 rebounds a game.
Tulane won its last game before the break 58-53 over Winthrop on Dec. 22. Three Waves scored double digits in the win led by Montagnino with 15 points. Brown recorded the double double with 13 points and 13 boards. Ashley Langford added 11 points for Tulane.
