• Named Third Team All-Southland Conference • Started 30 games on the mound for the Mavericks • Recorded 231 strikeouts, second most in the Southland Conference • Pitched 205.1 innings allowing only 174 hits • Recorded seven shutouts • Allowed only 14 homeruns while facing 772 batters • Had a 2.11 earned run average

2001 (Freshman at UTA)
• Led the league in strikeouts • Took the mound in 37 games, 33 in the starting lineup • Pitched a total of 230 innings • Struck out 236 batters while walking only 50 • Allowed only four triples and six homeruns • Recorded a 1.43 ERA • Struck out a league game high 14 batters against McNeese State • Batted in 10 games • Recorded four hits, scored two runs and drove in two • Named the team's most valuable player • Earned 1st Team All Conference honors as well as Freshman of the Year.
