Former Florida Gator Le-Net Franklin enters her first season as the Mavericks graduate assistant. Franklin comes to UT Arlington after spending two years on the University of Florida softball squad. While at Florida, Franklin played in 76 games while making seven starts in the lineup. The Belton, Texas native also helped the Gators to the College World Series in consecutive seasons. Prior to joining the Gators, Franklin spent two seasons at Temple Junior College where she was a two-time Louisville Slugger/NFCA Junior College All-American. She was also named the 2007 Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year after leading the league in batting average (.494), stolen bases (48), and runs scored (71). Franklin was also a two-time NJCAA All-Conference selection. She completed her bachelor's degree in liberal arts and science/religion from the University of Florida in 2010. Franklin is currently pursuing her master's degree in kinesiology. |
