SB: Georgia State holds off Mavs to win series

The Mavericks are back in action when they travel to Troy for a three-game series beginning Saturday.

Junior (2007): Named to the All-SLC third team... played and started in all 52 games at shortstop... hit .292 on the season with 42 hits in 144 at bats... led the team with 12 doubles, while also hitting four home runs on the season... scored the game winning run on a solo home run at North Texas on April 4... had a pair of home runs in the final SLC game of the regular season at Central Arkansas on April 29... hit .328 in conference play with 21 hits in 64 at bats scoring 16 runs.

Sophomore (2006): Played and started at shortstop in 53 games... hit .242 on the season with two home runs, 11 doubles, a triple and 16 RBI... led the team with 25 walks... had 38 hits in 157 at bats scoring 22 runs... had 69 putouts with ten assists for a .934 fielding percentage... played and started in 24 conference games hitting .221 with 17 hits in 77 at bats... hit two home runs and four doubles in SLC play.

Freshman (2005): Starting shortstop for the Mavs as a true freshman... batted .227 with 12 runs, 13 RBI and five extra-base hits in 43 games... recorded a .929 fielding percentage with only 11 errors in 154 chances... tied for third in the Southland Conference with eight sacrifice bunts.

Prior to UTA: A three-sport athlete and 2004 graduate of Jack C. Hays High School... earned letters in softball, basketball and volleyball... earned the team's Newcomer of the Year Award her freshman year after leading her team to the district championship... named the district's MVP as a sophomore... squad claimed the district and area championship in 2002... earned first-team all-district and honorable mention all-Centex accolades as a junior and district MVP honors and first team all-Centex as a senior... in addition was a Wendy's High School Heisman Award Nominee her senior year... finished eighth in AFA nationals in 2003 and qualified for ASA Gold Nationals in 2004 while competing with her Austin Storm club team... academically was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated in the top 10 percent of her class... earned Academic all-district honors from 2001-04 and was named to Academic all-state squad as a senior.
