HOUSTON, Texas - UT Arlington softball lost its first game of the season, 8-0, to Michigan at the Wilson DeMarini Invitational in Houston. Junior Katie Jones recorded the Mavs lone hit in the first inning of play.
Michigan's Tiffany Worth started off the game with a three-run homer in the first to put the Wolverine's up 3-0. In the second Maggie Viefhaus hit a solo home run to give Michigan the 4-0 lead.
Samantha Findlay sealed the victory for Michigan in the fourth with a three-run homer to centerfield.
The Mavs are scheduled to face-off with tournament host Houston at 4 p.m. On Saturday UTA is scheduled to play Michigan at 11 a.m. and Mississippi at 1:30 p.m.
