SAN DIEGO, California – UT Arlington softball lost both games to open the San Diego Classic II Friday afternoon at the San Diego State Softball Stadium.
The Mavericks opened the tournament with a 6-2 loss to Long Beach State and followed with a 4-3 setback to host team San Diego State.
"The other pitchers did a good job mixing up the pitches and mixing up the speeds, but we did a good job too, getting hits and putting runs on the board," UT Arlington coach Kristie Fox said. "With San Diego State, we went through three pitchers and got to their No. 1. They threw their No. 3 against us first."
The Mavericks drop to an even .500 (13-13) and are 0-2 in the San Diego Classic II.
