ARLINGTON, Texas - Texas-Arlington's seventh inning rally wasn't enough as Southeastern Louisiana edged past the Lady Mavericks 2-1 in Southland Conference softball acion Sunday afternoon at Allan Saxe Field. UTA swept Saturday's doubleheader 4-3 and 6-3 to win the series.
It was a pitchers dual early as each starter tossed five scoreless innnings before the Lady Lions put up two runs in the top of the sixth frame.
Beverly Rowan's RBI-double in the bottom of the seventh was all UTA could manage as they dropped the finale, 2-1.
Jill Garro was tagged with the loss for UTA after scattering six hits and striking out one in a complete game effort.
Texas-Arlington (18-19-1, 10-7) returns to action Friday, April 9 as it travels to face Nicholls State in a three-game Southland Conference series.
