SOFTBALL DROPS DOUBLEHEADER TO TULSA
April 16, 2008
TULSA, Okla. - The UT Arlington softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader at the Hardesty Softball Complex Wednesday. The Golden Hurricane took the games by the scores of 5-1 and 9-0.
To open up play, Tulsa began the day with a pair of runs in the first inning of game one. The Golden Hurricane scored after Lauren Lindsey reached base on a single. Lindsey moved around the base paths on a Sara Dyer home run. Tulsa added three more runs in the bottom of the third to take a 5-0 lead.
Senior Amanda Swofford hit a solo home run, her tenth of the season, in the top of the fourth to bring the Mavs within four.
In the nightcap, Tulsa used a five-run first inning and home runs in the second and third to take the game. UT Arlington's lone hit came from Kristin Moore as the offensive bats never got going in the second contest.
The Mavericks will take a break from action this weekend before heading to Lubbock for a non-conference doubleheader at Texas Tech on Tuesday, April 22.
