Texas State got on the board first in the bottom of the second after Anna Hernandez connected on a RBI single to right center.

Hulme tied the game in the top of the third with liner over the right field wall.

The Bobcat's plated a solo run in the bottom of the fourth when Hernandez delivered again with a double to right center, scoring McKenzie Baack at second base. Baack reached on a walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch.

UTA had plenty of chances to score, leaving a total of seven runners stranded including two in the first, fifth and sixth frames.

With Texas State leading 2-1 heading into the top of the fifth, UTA Head Coach Debbie Hedrick made a pitching change and brought in Lyles. The Bobcats immediately jumped on Lyles, plating two runs on three hits.
