ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington softball program held its annual summer camp earlier this week at Allan Saxe Field.
The camp lasted three days and consisted of a morning session and an afternoon session. The coaches and athletes worked with kids ages 8-13 in the first session and the campers in the second group ranged from ages 14-18.
“I am really happy with the attendance of our camp," UT Arlington coach Kristie Fox said. "We will continue to reach out to the younger age groups to grow that relationship and teach the game correctly at the lower levels. As for the older age group I could not be more impressed with the quality of athletes that showed up. My staff and workers did a great job in showing the campers what UTA softball is all about. “
The campers utilized the field as well as the team's indoor facility allowing them to get out of the sun and heat.
“The indoor facility was amazing and gave all the campers a chance to continue to learn the game and get out of the heat for short bursts of time.”
