Softball signs six to 2013 season
UT Arlington softball signed Jojo Schaefer, Brittany May, Hayley LeMonds, Rebecca Stockes, Kara Tilton and Shelby Hedrick to national letters of intent, head coach Debbie Hedrick announced.
Schaefer is an outfielder from Colleyville Heritage High School where she is a 4-year letter winner throughout high school.
The Grapevine native was an 18 and under Gold USSSA World Series Champion in 2011.
Schaefer was named 5-5A newcomer of the year in 2009, 1st Team 5-5A in 2010, 1st Team 6-5A in 2011 as well as district defensive player 6-5A.
The outfielder batted .438 as a senior for Colleyville Heritage.
Brittany May is a pitcher and attended The Oakridge School where she lettered in softball, volleyball and soccer.
May is 4-year letter winner in softball and was named All North Zone Varsity Freshman, Sophomore and Junior.
The Arlington native was also a finalist for the FCA Tom Laundry award in 2011.
Hayley LeMonda is from Mesquite, Texas and attended Horn High School where she played for head coach Patty Dyer.
Rebecca Stokes is a 5'4" infield and outfield player from Kilgore, Texas.
Stokes was name a 16 and under Hall of Fame Champion in 2012 and placed 4th in the 16 and under Premier Nationals in 2010.
Tilton is from Houston, Texas where she finished with a .380 batting average, a .470 slugging percentage and seven home runs. The 5'7'' catcher played for the 18 and under Houston Power Gold team.
Hedrick is a 5'8'' pitcher from North Forney High School. Hedrick as named Newcomer of the Year in 2009, Pitcher of the Year in 2010, district 13-3A MVP in 20ll. She was also named to the All-State Team in 2011.
