San Marcos, Texas - A seven run seventh inning by UT Arlington led to a 10-7 victory over fellow Southland Conference opponent Texas State Sunday afternoon at Bobcat Field in San Marcos, Texas. The Mavs finished the three-day tournament with a 4-1 record.

The Mavs seventh inning was huge after falling behind in the bottom of the fourth frame 6-3. Both teams were held scoreless thru the fifth and sixth frames until UTA went thru their entire lineup and produced seven runs off of six hits.

Senior Cara Hulme (2-1) picked up her second win of the season tossing a complete game. Hulme allowed seven runs on 13 hits, all seven runs were earned. The Bobcats used three players in the contest with Elizabeth Dennis taking the loss.

Samantha Chumchal had her best offensive day of the tournament, going a perfect 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Hulme and Teri Lyles each finished with a pair of hits and Brittany Washington knocked her first homerun of the season in the second inning.

The Mavs continue tournament action next weekend when they travel to Waco, Texas for the Baylor Tournament. The Mavericks will compete against Tulsa, UTEP, Wichita State, Central Arkansas and host Baylor.

UT Arlington takes on Tulsa on Friday, February 19 at 10 a.m. followed by UTEP at 12:30 p.m.
