Arlington, Texas - The Mavericks head to San Marcos for the 2012 Century Link Classic for another five-games-in-three-days stretch.
"Our goal each game is to play at a high level, with the primary focus being on our team making sure we execute to be the best we can be as a unit day in and day out," UT Arlington head coach Debbie Hedrick said. "If we do this, we'll have another successful weekend."
The women open up the tournament with a doubleheader playing Texas Southern at 10 a.m. and Dayton at 12:30 p.m. Texas Southern is 2-2 on the season and UTA will be Dayton's first game of the season.
On Saturday, The Mavericks start the day at 10 a.m. against Texas State, which is 1-5 on the season. UT Arlington will then tune up for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at 12:30 p.m. The Knights are 2-2 before heading into the 2012 Century Link Classic.
"We had a good couple of days of practice this week. We focused on a few mistakes we made at the Baylor tournament so we can make adjustments and learn from them," Hedrick said. "We also continued to work on our offense."
The Mavericks close out the tournament with another game against the Dayton Flyers on Sunday at 10 a.m.
