ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington softball is set for its fifth Southland Conference series of the season as it welcomes Sam Houston State to Allan Saxe Field. This will be the 80th meeting between the Mavericks and Bearkats.

Sam Houston State (14-12, 5-1) is coming off a three game sweep of SLC newcomer Texas A&M Corpus Christi last weekend. Junior Stephanie Mosley leads the Bearkats with a .397 batting average on the season, scoring 13 runs on 31 hits. Freshman Casey Everitt leads the home run battle with four on the season.

UTA (18-11, 8-4) took two of three last weekend against Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches. Junior Katie Jones leads the Mavs with a .462 batting average and 25 runs. Jones also leads the Mavs on the season with eight home runs.

The Mavs will return to action on Wednesday, March 28 when they host a double header with Missiouri-Kansas City with the first game set to start at 5 p.m. UTA will then play another SLC series at McNeese State staring with a double header on Saturday, March 31with the first game set for a 1 p.m. start. The Mavs and Cowgirls will conclude the series on Sunday with a single game at 1 p.m.
