ARLINGTON, Texas -- College Sports Madness has named UT Arlington Pitcher Teri Lyles Madness WAC Softball Player of the Week for her exceptional performance during the past week’s action. College Sports Madness identifies the players who have made the greatest impact to their team from each conference and on a national basis each week.
Lyleswent 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA, 11 strikeouts and two shutouts last week, limiting opponents to a .141 batting average.
She opened the week with a win in relief against North Texas, scattering two hits over four innings. She then picked up the complete-game win in an eight-inning victory over Utah State, striking out four.
In the series finale, and her last home game, Lyles threw a complete-game three-hitter, striking out six. The righthander leads the WAC with a 1.49 ERA this season.
