THREE LADY MAVERICKS EARN ALL-SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE HONORS

ARLINGTON, Texas - The University of Texas at Arlington placed three student-athletes on the 2005 All-Southland Conference softball teams, announced by the league today. Autumn Petrino was tabbed to the second team, Jill Garro to the third team and Katie Jones earned honorable mention.
Petrino, a junior outfielder, started all 41 games for the Lady Mavs and leads the team with a .316 batting average and a .474 slugging percentage. She receives her second all-league nod after earning honorable mention honors at the conclusion of her freshman campaign.
Garro was named to the third team after earning second team honors in 2003. The junior leads UTA's pitching staff with a 2.52 ERA and 12 wins.
A freshman from Cedar Hill, Texas, Jones garnered honorable mention honors following her inaugural campaign at UTA. Jones was second on the squad with a .293 average.
