LAFAYETTE, La. - Helping UT Arlington reach the league's final four for the second consecutive year, senior Sandra Mendoza was named to the All-Tournament team, announced on Saturday following the championship game.
Mendoza hit .333 in the tournament, knocking three hits, walking twice, scoring once and driving in a run for the first All-Tournament selection of her storied career. Mendoza, from Eagle Pass, Texas, is among the top five in UTA history for runs scored, hits, batting average, doubles, extra base hits and runs driving in.
The Mavericks (27-26) will await a postseason bid for the second consecutive season, with announcement of a potential selection coming on Sunday evening.
