ARLINGTON, Texas - Maverick softball continues its success during the Fall season with a sweep over North Central Texas College.
"Offensively, we're really swinging the ball well right now," UT Arlington coach Kristie Fox said. "Defensively, we're working hard. I think some people are still fighting for starting positions. The girls did a really good job. The intensity has been strong."
UT Arlington scored 18 runs in just 12 innings, compared to NCTC's four runs, which all game in the first game of the doubleheader.
"The doubleheader went really well," Michele said. "I feel like we were hitting the ball pretty well this year."
All four Maverick pitchers saw action over the two games. Newcomers Shannon Carrico and Rebecca Mintz combined to pitch a shutout in the second game.
The Mavericks' game Tuesday against Hill Junior College has been rescheduled for Friday at 2 p.m. UT Arlington faces Temple Junior College Thursday at 5 p.m. Both games are at Allan Saxe Field.
