ARLINGTON, Texas - First-year head coach Peejay Brun announced the addition of two incoming Mavericks to her first-ever signing class, announced by the program on Thursday.

The signees include pitcher Allie Gardiner and outfielder Ryleigh Love.

Allie Gardiner – Yorba Linda HS – Yorba Linda, Calif.

Notable: The incoming pitcher brings a lot to the table for the Maverick’s with her shine on the softball field, along in the classroom as well. The Varsity Pitcher of the Year in 2017 racked up 179 strikeouts in 163 innings with only allowing an ERA of 2.00. Gardiner also received the Scholar Athlete award for the 2016 and 2017 season. She plays club ball with the Corona Angels.

Brun on Gardiner: "Allie plays for the Corona Angels in Southern California and is a strong pitcher with a variety of speed and movement. She is going to make an immediate impact in our program and will add some much needed depth in the circle. We were fortunate to find a player of Allie's caliber at this late a date and we’re excited to see what she’ll bring to the program."

Ryleigh Love – Pearland HS – Houston, Texas

Notable: The Pearland native, who is coming in as an outfielder, brings versatility to the Mavericks along with her accolade of 2nd Team All-District with the Oilers in her 2016-17 season. Love plays travel ball with the Intensity and plans to pursue a major in business as her college education starts."

Brun on Love: "Ryleigh comes to us from Texas Intensity out of Houston. She is a strong lefty hitter with a lot of speed that will gel perfectly with our team. She is working on her short game and we expect her to be a triple threat by the time she starts here next fall."
