SB: Seven standouts signed by UTA Softball

ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington softball welcomed a stellar seven-member recruiting class to the program, Mavericks coach Kristie Fox announced.

Six of the players are currently high school seniors: Kacey Everett (Lake Elsinore, Calif.), Riley Fira (Ennis, Texas), Mallory Foster (Burleson, Texas), Rebecka Mintz (Littleton, Colo.), Shelbi Sikes (Kaufman, Texas) and Leslie McClinton (Blanco, Texas). The lone transfer is Dajonnie Hooks, who is from Missouri City, Texas, and played San Jacinto Jr. College.

Hooks is transferring to UT Arlington mid-year and will be eligible to compete during the 2013 season, which is also the Mavericks' first and only season in the Western Athletic Conference. The six high school signees join the program for the 2014 season, which will be UT Arlington's first in the Sun Belt Conference.
