Arlington, Texas - The UT Arlington softball team is participating in their last community service project for the semester Saturday, Dec. 1 by participating in the annual Fort Worth Jingle Bell run.
The Fort Worth Jingle Bell run is hosting its 21st annual 5k run to raise money for the Arthritis Foundation. The event will take place at Chesapeake Plaza at 2 p.m. This race is family friendly and people are encouraged to wear reindeer antlers or other holiday attire.
"The players on the softball team this year have truly exceeded my expectations with the community service they have done this fall," head softball coach Kristie Fox said.
The Mavericks softball team will be signing participants up to run the race and hand out the race packets.
"We as a staff help organize, but the rest is 100 percent the players," Fox said. "They love doing good deeds for others and it shows the heart and passion they have to represent UT Arlington in our community."
