EDMOND, Okla. - No. 39 Oklahoma State kept its all-time record perfect against Southland Conference opponents by defeating No. 75 Texas-Arlington 4-3 at the Oak Tree Tennis Facility in Edmond Saturday afternoon.

UTA (2-2) jumped ahead of the Cowgirls (1-0) after claiming two of three doubles points. At the No. 1 position No. 40 Marketa Cizova and Daniela Novakova earned an 8-5 win over the senior tandem of Katya Kolodynska and Jana Karaskova. The Lady Mavericks claimed the doubles team point at the No. 2 position where Monika Peciulionyte and Simri van Rooyen defeated Ines Furtmayr and Zana Masnic, 8-4. The No. 3 doubles did not finish.

Peciulionyte, ranked No. 46 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, was upset for the second time this season as she fell to Kolodynska, 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 1 position. Cizova fell in the two hole, 7-5, 6-2 to Karaskova.

UTA reclaimed the lead as Novakova dropped Masnic 7-6, 6-1 and van Rooyen downed Lauren Simmons 6-2, 6-2.

Furtmayr evened the match at three when she defeated Anete Rozkalne in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4. Jitka Vetrovcova claimed the first set of the deciding game, 6-2, before dropping the next two, 6-2, 6-2 to Jennifer Poskitt at the No. 6 position.

The Lady Mavericks will return to action Sunday at No. 49 Tulsa.
