LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Kansas Jayhawks swept UT Arlington's women's tennis team 4-0 at the Jayhawk Tennis Center on Sunday.

"We really couldn't get the rhythm during doubles play," UT Arlington coach Diego Benitez said. "It was more of the same for the singles too. Kansas is a good team which plays even better indoors."

The Mavericks had two matches in which they had leads in the second set, but were unable to finish the match. Elizabeth Thoms led 5-3 in the second set after losing 6-4 in the opener and Jessica Birowski was up 1-0 in the match before play was stopped.

The UTA women's tennis team continues its road trip against Wichita State on Monday.
