ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington women's tennis lost 4-2 to former Western Athletic Conference foe Louisiana Tech Monday afternoon at the UTA Tennis Center.
The Mavericks lost the doubles match at the No. 1 position, but No. 2 and No. 3 completed play almost simultaneously as UTA won both matches and clinched the doubles point.
With the 1-0 lead, UT Arlington had the advantage heading into singles competition. Freshman Jessica Birowski defeated her LA Tech opponent at the No. 5 position to give the Mavericks their lone singles point, but the Lady Techsters were able to win four singles matches for the victory.
The women are back on the court Saturday when they travel to Pomona, Calif. to face Cal Poly at 10 a.m.
