FRESNO, California – UT Arlington women's tennis lost 4-0 to Fresno State Sunday afternoon at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
"It was a hard match," UT Arlington coach Diego Benitez said. "We played very good [Saturday] and it kind of took a lot out of us. We will rest, regroup and go after the last two matches of this road trip."
The Bulldogs won all three doubles matches against the Mavericks to take the 1-0 lead heading into singles competition.
Junior Verena Scott was the first Maverick to go down as her Fresno State opponent took a quick 6-2, 6-0 match. Senior Giada D'ortona and Freshman Angeles de los Rios also lost at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions, respectively, as the Bulldogs swept the Mavericks 4-0.
