Arlington, Texas - The No. 59 Mavericks domination of the Southland Conference continued Sunday afternoon when they recorded a 7-0 shutout win against UTSA.
UTA improved to 11-4 overall and 6-0 in conference play with the win. The Mavs recorded their third shutout win against a SLC team.
Just like the Mavs did against Texas State Saturday, they followed that performance by easily winning all seven points against the Roadrunners.
Daiana Negreanu and Linda Aqvist handed Stefanie Peana and Micaela Silva an 8-3 loss in the top flight while the No. 2 doubles team of Natalia Mayuk and Giada D'ortona defeated Kavya Menon and Mariel Maffezzolli, 8-1.
In the No. 3 position, Nikola Matovicova and Maria Martinez-Ronero recorded an 8-2 decision against Katie Ottenbreit and Caroline Dedering.
In singles action, Negreanu recorded a 6-3, 6-0 win over Peana in the top flight while Aqvist collected a 6-4, 6-3 victory against Silva in the No. 2 spot.
Martinez-Romero earned a 6-0, 6-0 win against Menon in the No. 3 position while Mayuk won the No. 4 flight against Dedering, 6-2, 6-1.
D'ortona defeated Ottenbreit in the No. 5 position with scores of 6-1, 6-0 while Matovicova collected a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Maffezzolli in the No. 6 flight.
UT Arlington continues conference action on Saturday, April 2 when they take on Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas. Match time is set for 11 a.m.
