LADY MAVS DROP TEXAS STATE 6-1 FOR UNDEFEATED LEAGUE MARK

ARLINGTON, Texas - The University of Texas at Arlington improved its Southland Conference record to a perfect 7-0 after dropping Texas State 6-1 Saturday afternoon in women's tennis action at the UTA Tennis Center.
UTA initiated the scoring with wins at the top two doubles flights to claim the first team point.
No. 90 Pavla Mesterova pushed her No. 1 singles record to 11-0 after making quick work of Leja Sirola, 6-0, 6-0. Daniela Novakova got back to winning ways with a 7-5, 6-0 decision over Melanie Hall at No. 2 while Monika Peciulionyte downed Margaret Potyrala 6-1, 6-4 in the three hole. Anete Rozkalne and Gretel Hach closed out the scoring for the Lady Mavs, earning wins at No. 4 and 5, respectively.
Texas-Arlington will continue league action Sunday when Texas-San Antonio visits Arlington. First serve is set for 10 a.m. at the UTA Tennis Center.
