HOUSTON, Texas - UT Arlington women's tennis team continued play at the 27th Annual Rice Classic on Saturday in Houston.
In doubles action, duo Klara Jagosova and Monika Hadvigerova edged Texas' Mello and Zauft 8-6 before finishing off Rice's Chao and Leo 9-7 in the semifinals. The pair will face Corovic and Milic from Texas in the championship match of the Le Peep bracket tomorrow at 9 a.m. Junior Sara Pesic and sophomore Sofya Lifanova will play for third place in the consolation side of the Kolache bracket after falling 8-5 to UTSA's Wallin and Silvester.
Pesic and Lifanova will play for third place in their respective brackets after dropping semifinals matches. Pesic won her first set 6-4 against Louisville's Natalie Baez before dropping the match 6-1, 6-1. In the Chipotle bracket, Lifanova fell 6-4, 6-0 to Texas' Marija Milic.
The 27th Annual Rice Classic wraps up Sunday at 9am with doubles play. Singles action is set to get underway at 10am at the Jake Hess Tennis Stadium.
