Arlington, Texas - The UT Arlington women's tennis team opens conference action Saturday, February 27 at the UTA Tennis Center against Southeastern Louisiana at 11 a.m. and follows with a match over Nicholls State Sunday at 11 a.m.

The Mavericks enter this weekend's conference matchups with a 0-3 mark, falling to Texas Tech (Jan. 22), New Mexico (Jan. 23) and Old Dominion (Feb. 6).

Sophomore Katarina Mlcochova was named the Southland Conference Player of the Week on Jan. 26 for her top performances against Texas Tech and New Mexico.

Mlcochova opened the season going a perfect 2-0 in singles and 1-0 in doubles action. The Bratislava, Slovakia, native handed Kelsy Garland of Texas Tech a 7-5, 4-6 and 6-3 loss and followed that performance with a 7-6, 6-1 victory over New Mexico's Kristen Eggleston.

In doubles action, Mlcochova and teammate Klara Jagosova notched a 9-8 win against New Mexico's No. 1 doubles team.

Last season, the Mavs were crowned the Southland Conference and Tournament Champions. They finished the season with a 17-7 overall mark and a perfect 11-0 conference record.
