ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington women's tennis closes out its 2014 regular-season schedule on Sunday when South Alabama comes to the UTA Tennis Center at 10 a.m.
The Mavericks are 11-7 heading into the season finale and head to the Sun Belt Conference Championship in New Orleans, La. that begins on April 17.
"We are looking forward to playing another conference match, especially at home," UT Arlington coach Diego Benitez said. "Our girls are eager to get on the court after a much needed break."
Senior Giada D'ortona will be playing her final home match on UTA's senior day. D'ortona was named to the 2010-11 All-Southland Conference team for singles and doubles. In 2012-13, D'ortona was a member of the All-Academic Team.
In 2013-14, she picked up a win in Draw F in the USTA BJK NCT Women's College Invitational at the National Tennis Center at Flushing Meadows. During the spring she is 7-10 overall in singles and has compiled 10 wins in doubles with different partners.
