ARLINGTON, Texas - The University of Texas at Arlington women's tennis team will head to Austin to face the host Texas Longhorns in the first round of the NCAA Division I Women's tennis championships May 14-16. The Lady Mavericks earned an automatic berth after winning the Southland Conference tournament on April 25.
UTA rolled through league play, finishing with a perfect 10-0 record and going on to sweep the tournament field on its way to its fourth SLC tournament crown. The Lady Mavericks are the only team to garner both the regular-season and tournament titles in the same year four times.
Texas-Arlington (18-6) is making its fourth apperance in the NCAA tournament, having missed it the past two years.
