Arlington, Texas - The UT Arlington men's and women's tennis programs had two players named to the 2009 Capital One/Southland Conference Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll which was announced on Wednesday.
Junior Brieuc Hamon is one of six players in the Southland Conference to earn the recognition. Hamon finished his junior campaign with a 3.27 grade point average in management. Hamon appeared in every match for the Mavs and finished with 10 victories in doubles competition with both Adam Srkala and Gonzalo Bienzobas.
On the women's side, junior Klara Jagosova earned a spot on the second-team all-academic team where she finished with a 3.70 grade point average in international business. In singles action, Jagosova finished with 12 wins including nine in conference action and 11 in doubles.
The all-academic teams are voted on by the head coaches, sports information directors and academic/compliance administrators from each Southland university. Student-athletes must possess a 3.2 cumulative GPA, have completed one full academic year at the nominating institution and participated in at least 50 percent of the team's competition to qualify for the all-academic squad.
