Women head to Austin for Texas Invitational

Arlington, Texas - The UT Arlington women's tennis team is set to compete in the Texas Longhorns Women's Invitational in Austin, Texas Sept. 23-25.

The Mavericks went 20-5 last season, including a perfect 11-0 in conference play to become the 2011 Southland Conference champions.

They are led by seniors Natalia Mayuk and Maria Martinez-Romero, both first-team ALL-SLC selections in 2011.

The tournament will consist of one 32-player singles draw and a 16-team doubles bracket. There are five teams competing this weekend: UT-Arlington, Texas, Texas Tech, San Diego and Rice

First serve is set for Friday at 9 a.m. at Pennick-Allison Tennis Center.
