ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington women's tennis returns to action this weekend when the Mavericks travel to the Rice Invitational and SFA Classic beginning on Friday.
UTA coach Diego Benitez said that the team is ready to play after being out of action since the season opening tournament in Midland from Sept. 13-15.
“I think that they had a really great couple of weeks of practice,” Benitez said. “After the last tournament they narrowed down some details on strategy. We had a lot of match play and that is what they need.”
The Mavs will send a trio of players to each tournament, to be determined by Benitez.
“They are really good tournaments,” Benitez said. “Because of our location, we are fortunate because any tournament that we play will feature top players in the nation.”
Updates throughout the weekend will be available on twitter by following UTA Athletics on Twitter via @UTAMavs.
