Capturing a NCAA Tournament first round victory is something that has never been done by a Southland Conference team and is still yet to be done as the UT Arlington women's tennis squad dropped a hard-fought 4-0 setback to No. 4 Baylor at the Baylor Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.

The University of Texas at Arlington women's tennis team travels to Waco, Texas for the start of the NCAA Tennis Tournament hosted by Baylor University. The Mavericks match-up against No.4 Baylor on Saturday, May 9 at the Baylor Tennis Courts. Match time is set for 2 p.m.

Team and individual awards were handed out as UT Arlington celebrated the success and accomplishments during the 2008-2009 academic year.

The University of Texas at Arlington women's tennis squad earned their fifth Southland Conference Tournament Championship in UTA women's history on Sunday, April 26 by defeating UTSA, 4-0 at the HEB Tennis Courts in Corpus Christi, Texas.
