Arlington, TX- The UTA men's and women's track and field teams are getting ready for the Horned Frog Invitational in Fort Worth this weekend. The action begins on Friday with men's and women's discus competitions.
This marks the first outdoor meet for both Maverick teams since the New Year. The Mavs hope to shake the rust off this weekend before next weekend's UTA Bobby Lane Invitational (March 27th and 28th).
This is either team's first action since the Southland Conference Indoor Championships back on February 21st. Several Mavs, including Jasmine Walls who won two individual events, won conference championships. Walls won the 60 meter and 200 meter Southland titles leading the women's half of the team. Idilio Campos and Wade Hayes won titles in the 800 meters and pole vault respectively to lead the UTA men. Overall, both teams finished the season strong at the Southland Championships. The men placed second as a team and the women came in fourth.
Live Results of the events will be available at gofrogs.cstv.com.
