BERTRAND PLACES SIXTH AT U.S. CHAMPIONSHIPS

CARSON, Calif. -- - Former UTA track standout Mishael Bertrand clocked a time of 2:03.87 to place sixtth in the women's 800 meters at the 2005 U.S. track and field championships here Sunday.

Bertrand, whose personal-best time is 2:03.44, is currently an assistant distance coach at UTA. She is an eight-time all-Southland Conference champion and an NCAA Indoor All-American in 2000.

Hazel Clark, competing for NIKE, won the race with a time of 1:59.74.
