UTA'S JOHN SAUERHAGE NAMED HEAD COACH OF EL SALVADOR WORLD UNIVERSITY GAMES TEAM

San Salvador, El Salvador - by Melissa Cebold UT Arlington Athletic Communications UT Arlington track and field head coach John Sauerhage is on his way to Belgrade, Serbia to serve as the head mentor of the El Salvador track and field team at the World University Games. Former UTA sprinter Takeshi Fujiwara, who finished his career this past season, is representing his country at the games and Sauerhage will assist him in his preparation for the event. Sauerhage will also be in charge of Roberto Hernandez, a race walker who will also be representing his country. The World University Games is a multi-sport event for international university athletes. The events begin July 1 and last through July 12. The track and field events begin July 7 and continue for six days. Fujiwara will be competing in the 200 and 400 meters
