Turner and Culbertson Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

Arlington, Texas - Megan Turner and Brittany Culbertson were two of a record total 551 student-athletes representing 150 institutions selected to the 2010 USTFCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team announced Wednesday, July 28.

In addition to being selected to the USTFCCA All-Academic Team, the sprinters were named to the SLC All-Academic Team and were Capital One Bank/Southland Conference CommissionerÂÂÂfs Honor Roll recipients.

Turner finished the season with a 3.42 GPA in finance. On the track, the sprinter inked her named in the UTA record books becoming the 600m record holder after her first place performance time of 1:25.34 at the Sooner Indoor Open. She also inched her way to becoming fourth all-time with a career-best 1:01.11 in the 400m hurdles at the SLC Outdoor Championships.

Culbertson wrapped up her junior year with a 3.88 GPA in kinesiology. She was part of the 4x400m relay team that took home three first place finishes including at the SLC Outdoor Championships.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA AllÂÂÂ]Academic Track and Field Team, the studentÂÂÂ]athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division I Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard or participated in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships (including preliminary rounds) in their respective event
